Re- Install Windows Without Formatting

Most people do not like to re-install because it means that they have to reformat your hard drive and may lose some of their precious data. The fact is, you do not really have to format your hard drive to reinstall the OS. Even after the reinstall, your data will remain intact.
Here's how to Reinstall Windows 7 without formatting the hard drive. For users of Windows XP and Vista you can also do the same. 

Note when you have to reinstall Windows 7 you have to prepare everything that needs to be considered:

1. Reinstalling Windows 7 will delete the system folder, Program Files and My Documents folder. All applications are pre-installed will be lost. 

2. As usual, backup all your data before you try to follow this tutorial. 

3. Make sure you have the installer DVD, or USB drive.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 without formatting the hard drive:

2.Insert the DVD installer (or plug in the USB installer). 

3.A window will appear asking if you want to "Run setup.exe" or "open folder". Select "Run setup.exe". If this popup window does not appear, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the DVD drive and run the setup.exe file from there.

Once you log into your account, you will find that all your data will remain intact.
